Specialist student accommodation provider, UniLodge, has opened its first location at Central Park and is taking reservations for the academic year. Chippendale has been home to students for generations so it's only natural that, we'll welcome a few more.

UniLodge @ Central Park is a state-of-the-art bespoke student housing campus on Kensington Street, on the city side of Central Park.

UniLodge @ Central Park is something quite unique: two low-rise buildings beautifully incorporating a lovely old warehouse façade, spanning a vibrant heritage laneway soon to be filled with cafes, restaurants and eclectic retail offerings. This is 21st century housing with all the mod cons students' need, but with the cachet of high design, hip heritage and an undeniable 'cool factor' you won't see anywhere else. It's very Central Park.

UniLodge @ Central Park is located at the Regent Street end of Kensington Street, within Kensington Street's planned casual dining and shopping precinct. Chippendale Green - 6,400sqm of expansive public parkland - is a couple of hundred metres' stroll away, perfect for backyard cricket between classes or a weekend barbeque. The Living Mall - Central Park's own multi-level shopping centre - is right at the end of the street, with fashion, fabulous food, a late-trading Woolworths and an arts-based event space.

Tonkin Zulaikha Greer has designed UniLodge @ Central Park's Kensington Street campus, beautifully incorporating a lovely old warehouse façade into one of the low-rise campus buildings, on the corner of Kensington and Outram Streets.

271 residents will be accommodated in 237 dwellings of various configurations within the Kensington Street campus. There will be a choice of studio apartments for those students who prefer their own living space, or 4, 5 or 6 bedroom apartments with kitchenettes and ensuite bathrooms for students who are looking to share with friends or make new friends. The rooms are completely furnished and include air-conditioning and heating. The kitchenettes allow for small cooking adventures or, as the team at UniLodge say, "for those who prefer to show off their culinary skills and wow their friends", there is a full size communal kitchen for all residents to use.

UniLodge's residences are professionally managed, with 24 hour staffing and a popular Community Spirit programme. UniLodge's specialist management gives parents a lot of comfort and creates a supportive - and active - community for residents, whether they come from Lindfield, London or Lombok.

The apartments are not strata titled and will not be individually owned; instead, they'll be professionally owned and operated as a single, specialised concern. Most of UniLodge @ Central Park’s Kensington Street apartments will be offered under the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS), a Federal and NSW State Government program to encourage the development of affordable rental housing (including student housing).

Chippendale has been home to students for generations, with good reason. Central Park is directly opposite The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS); 280m to the University of Notre Dame; and 900m to The University of Sydney.
